Announcing The New Dispatch Experience
By Morgan Landry on Oct 20, 2026

Dispatch is the control center of any NEMT operation. When it's good, you can handle most problems as they come up, and when the board turns into a mess everything else gets harder, from your drivers to your billing to the facilities blowing up your phone. If you've ever run a day of trips, you know the feeling.
Dispatch software has come a long way over the years, but a lot of that work went everywhere except the dispatcher's actual day-to-day, which is one of the core functions of the whole operation.
Most dispatch software still looks like a spreadsheet somebody kept bolting buttons onto. It's a giant grid with everything crammed in, built for a desktop and a mouse and somebody who already knows exactly where to click. It's powerful, but it's a lot to carry, so new dispatchers take weeks to get their feet under them and the veterans just end up memorizing the dumb workarounds. Either way it proves the point I keep making in this series: the whole thing only runs when your best person is in the chair. So we made dispatching easier than ever to manage, centralized in one screen.
Monday, 7:40 am
Picture a normal Monday around 7:40 am. One of your drivers just no-showed, you've got a dozen standing-order dialysis runs that have to move to other cars, a facility is on hold asking about a will-call from Friday that never got closed out, and somewhere in the back of your mind is the broker who grades you on on-time performance and pulls trips back when you miss. The old way, you're filtering the grid with one hand and holding the phone with the other, hoping you land on the right trip before the clinic calls back.
MediRoutes New Dispatch is built for that kind of morning. You type a name into the Magic Bar and land right on the trip with no scrolling or filter gymnastics, and you can right-click to move the no-show's runs to other drivers without opening five menus. The predictive ETAs get smarter the more you use the platform, so when the facility asks where their ride is you can give them a real answer instead of a guess, and the trips about to go sideways are easy to identify instead of you hunting for them. You can shape the board around the way your operation actually runs, and pull the whole fleet up on the map view whenever you need the big picture.
None of this was invented in a conference room. Every piece of it came from sitting with real dispatchers, watching them work, and asking questions.
Why a single view, eliminates a single point of failure
I come back to this one a lot: the companies that scale build dispatch around a system instead of around one hero who keeps it all in his head. That's still true, but it only works if the system is something a normal, trained person can actually run without spending years learning where all the bodies are buried.
That's really what this comes down to. When the screen does more of the remembering, the knowledge stops living in one person's head, and a newer dispatcher can pick it up and give a facility the same straight answer your best one would. That's consistency, and consistency is what takes the stress out of everything downstream.
I've watched an operation grind to a stop because the one person who knew the board called in sick and everybody else just sort of froze. That wasn't on them. The whole system lived in one guy's head, and once you fix that, a sick day stops being a company-wide emergency. A better dispatch screen might not sound like much, but it touches every trip you run and the money riding on those trips.
Rolling it out
We're rolling New Dispatch out now, web first and a batch at a time, on purpose. I'd rather move people over carefully and fix what breaks in real operations than flip a switch for everybody and cross my fingers. If you're already a customer, you'll be able to turn it on and run it right next to what you use today, so you can try it on a slow afternoon before you trust it on a Monday. And if you're not with us yet and you're fighting your dispatch software every shift, come take a look.
Dispatch runs your whole company, and it's about time the software worked as hard as the person sitting in that chair.
